Minority hiring report card hands out Cs, Ds, Fs

More than half of the 30 schools making football coaching changes last year will receive grades of "C, D or F" when this year's minority hiring report card is released Wednesday.

This is the third year the Black Coaches Association has issued the report card.

Grades are based on results in categories that include the percentage of minorities involved in the hiring process, the number of minority candidates who received interviews and the schools' contacts with either BCA executive director Floyd Keith or the chairman of the NCAA's Minority Opportunity and Interests Committee.

Lets not hire or interview the best person available, just whoever gives us minority points. :shakeno:

Man I hate this BS. If you already have someone in line you want to hire, why interview other people?

Example: Charlie Weis becomes available for Notre Dame...... they want him, he wants them. Wouldnt it be a slap on the face for them to interview other people when the people KNOW they cant even get the job? If I was a minority and I got called in to interview for the ND position, heck, I wouldnt go because I know it was already Charlie Weis' job for the taking.

isn't the ratio of white guys that want to be a coach to black guys that want to be a coach pretty big? there's a REASON there aren't that many black coaches; not nearly as many want to be coaches as white guys, plain and simple

but go ahead and interview unqualified black guys so you can feel good about yourself, schools
