If you like Folk/Indie Rock I would recommend picking up a copy of Sufjan Stevens' "Greetings from Michigan" or "Illinoise"

Basically the premise is that he wants to write an album for every state. He uses events, people, landmarks of the state as a cruxt for his songwriting, but each song is much more. I doubt he will ever get around to every state, but I hope he continues to make more. Cool concept, excellent execution.
May not be for everyone, but if you like Folk/Indie sound, I would recommend you check him out.
