Vikings | Childress had thoughts of Owens in dealing with Culpepper

In his first public appearance in the Twin Cities, Childress told a St. Paul Chamber of Commerce luncheon crowd he didn't like what he heard from Culpepper during the few conversations they have had since Childress was hired Jan. 5. Childress was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in Philadelphia the past seven seasons, the last two with Owens, whose egocentric, and eccentric, behavior ultimately became such a headache that his prodigious talent was deemed not worth it.
