GIF images

I see a lot of these "GIF" images where it's almost like a very short video clip, and the person is in motion. Can anybody tell me where I can find a page that shows how to do that, or possibly explain how to themselves? That would be great, thanks!

Converting a video clip into an animated gif requires some software. I use Flash MX 2004 for convert and then Fireworks to edit the gif and reduce it's size.
