Van Halen weren't ever really a **** rock band.

Diamond Dave had the sleaze of most **** rock frontmen but the musicianship was far beyond what those bands typically produce.

I don't think Van Halen are classic, but they were solid in their day, before that joker Hagar took over and turned them into a pop band. altho SOME of that was Eddie.

I'm just happy I saw the band live in '84 with Dave up front. That's when the bass player had the JD bass guitar and Eddie was awesome! That's was long ago in the Sportatorium. Remember that place? Man I'm an old timer.
