Report: Automaker plans announcement this week of muscle car's return

General Motors Corp. plans to bring back the Chevrolet Camaro as a production vehicle, according to a published report.

GM Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Wagoner is expected to announce the return of the muscle car in a speech Thursday at an automotive conference in Traverse City, the Detroit Free Press reported Sunday.

The production version could be built as early as 2008, the newspaper reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the plans.

GM spokesman Christopher Preuss said Sunday he couldn't comment on the report.

Dude, not in the least. The body lines have way more curves than the Mustang does. The Mustang's hood is basically flat, this one slopes down radically.

I don't like the one they're coming out with at all. The front end looks like a Cadillac, and the rear end looks like a Corvette. Chevy really f'ed this up.

At least Dodge got it right with the Challenger concept.

THIS is the car that GM should make. Some guy did a photoshop of the new Camaro, using the front end styling of the '77 "Bandit" Trans Am.

I'd actually want one of these if Pontiac ever decided to make it!

i saw a new camaro at the brickyard sunday it was neat, but they price will be so high on them that they wont sell like the mustangs.
