He looked solid tonight vs the Steelers. Looks like the future in Minny.

Well there isn't anybody ahead of him so I would say the future QB position is all his. I still think Minny handled the Culpepper situation badly and would be better off with him, not that I'm complaining at how it turned out.

Just did some research on the kid.
Tavaris Jackson - 2nd round pick, 64th overall in the 2006 draft. Alot criticized Brad Childress saying he REACHED big time for Tavaris Jackson; most say Tavaris would have been available in the 3rd or even 4th round. First Division I-AA player drafted in the 2006 draft. Tavaris even felt being drafted in the 3rd round would have been a stretch, so being picked 64th overall must have really shocked him.
Tavaris average NFL.com grades are 6.0, which is the minimum for a legitimate NFL starter.
Mike Tirico refered to Tavaris as a right handed version of Michael Vick on the Monday Night Football game vs the Raiders.
Brad Childress is a pretty good quarterback coach, we all seen what he did with Donovan McNabb. Who knows, this may have been a steal.

Check out his stats, and if you've seen him play he appears to be the real deal. Good composure. Surprising since he came from a DII school. He could be ready to start as early os 2007.
