Naw, but I've seen it before. The emails that go out every few years always say this is the last chance to see it for x amount of years.

thanks but i dont think thats it...it was supposed to be the same size as the moon in the sky

That is never going to happen. There would have to be a major shift in the orbit of Mars for it to come that close. It was "close" in astronomical terms, but it was still millions of miles away.
Think of it this way, if Earth is NY and Mars is San Francisco, the closest that Mars (SF) will get to Earth (NY) is Oakland, CA.
When these people oversell the experience, it turns people off when it isn't as spectacular as they were told it would be. When Mars gets close, it will appear brighter in the sky than normal, but it will never be the same size as the moon. Unfortunately, you will never be able to look up at the sky with your naked eye and see this.....

i never said it was going to be as close as the moon...it would just appear as big..was supposed to be at like 330 am EST...dont know how big the moon is at 330am

I know you didn't bro, but it would have to be almost as close as the moon to be as large and as visible. Mars is almost the same size that Earth is, it is usually refered to as Earth's "twin". If you remember those pics of Earth taken from the surface of the moon you will know what I am talking about. I'll see if I can find one.
