He added that those responsible could face one year in federal prison and/or a $100,000 fine. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be conducting a necropsy on the mammal on Monday to determine the cause of death.

The punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime. A year for a scumbag or scumbags like that isn't quite enough.

In the middle of the image is the nose of a manatee, there were two of them cavorting from before can see to another 15 minutes when they were joined by a third who broke things off and started them moving away.

I really wish they could find a way to repopulate the manatee, uh, population. Those animals are incredible and deserve a place on this Earth, and the fact that someone would actually mutilate and kill one...what do you get out of doing that?

I wish they could cut off the scum's arms and nose before killing him and see how he likes it.
