What's been going on with the next Gears of War (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) update from Microsoft and Epic Games? Rumblings on 1UP Yours (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) have suggested some turmoil behind-the-scenes, but the Epic VP Mark Rein's confirmed to the official message boards (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) their upcoming update has entered Microsoft certification and should be available soon -- for free. Rein promises more details on the update this week, but says it will include an all-new multiplayer game type entitled Annex -- " Some folks who got to play it a few weeks ago said they think it is our best multiplayer gametype yet" -- and the obligatory bug fixes.
Additionally, the quirky VGA problem for players wanting to run 720p at 1280x1024 has been patched up.

They wanna release more maps but MS wants them to charge for it :shakeno:

yeah that is lame, epic trying to keep their game community flourishing...and m$ not wanting that to happen for free...i don't like that at all honestly.

They should find a sponsor then. Those maps would cause mass traffic on xbox live and I can see them shivering a bit.

Would make both parties happy in the end if they could just get a sponsor.

cant wait to see this new game type... word on the street is that player matches will count as points now as well..??..??

If thats teh case it wont give the same value of points.


The new gametype might be a defend/attack. Ut2K4 had a gametype like that.
