360 warrant question!!

my friend has a broke 360 and is buying a working one, and it comes with a warranty........my question is what do they do when you exchange xboxs?? do they scan the serial number or w/e??

thinking about using the warranty on the broke one if its possible

well they have serial numbers and can track where and when that serial number was purchased. might just want to see how much they would charge you to actually fix it legit, probably less than a new system
