My Thoughts
DS is king of the world.
Wii outsells Xbox 360 and PS3 combined.
Very good sales for PSP. Price drop worked.
Xbox 360 sales are disturbing. Need the rumored price cut soon. E3?
PS3 is destined for 3rd place this generation.
Guitar Hero 2 shows great legs on two consoles. Impressive.
Mario Party 8 and Forza 2 debut with nice sales.

I don't expect any sales cut until next spring. Bioshock/Halo 3/Mass Effect/GTA IV/Assassin's Creed/Lost Odyssey (still saying 2007 release), Blue Dragon and a host of other games will move units into the fall and of course xmas. Although it would make killer sense to do a price cut along with those games coming out.

It seems that the quality of games for the ps2 is hurting the nextgen consoles.

Oh, I agree, Microsoft can get away without a price cut with Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV looming. Those 2 games alone will push Xbox 360's this holiday. However, at the current sales pace, Wii will surpass Xbox 360 worldwide before the holiday season and they still have their so called "Big 3" (Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl) to launch as well.

I guess my point was if Microsoft wants to keep their lead, I think a price cut would be help them maintain their lead and force Sony to drop its price as well. But I think Microsoft is more concerned with making money instead being #1.

Looking forward to E3. :)
