Vilma fumbles for a mulligan

Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma has tried to clarify (i.e., make go away) his recent remarks comparing dog fighting to horse racing.

Said Vilma on Wednesday: "Of course, dog fighting is much more extreme, but you can equate it to horse racing."
We agree, Jon. You weren't comparing dog fighting to horse racing. You were equating it to horse racing. Thanks for the clearing that up.

I read the whole thing and it was an honest mistake. He was talking about animal rights activists and how THEY see both as bad.

Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

That was a stupid thing to say. I don't understand why players just don't refuse to talk about Vick's situation. Everyone who has made a comment about it has to backpeddle the next day. Say it with me "no comment".
