Ok guys, I really don't know how to implement this, or if it even feasible, but I guess I could explain my ideas and you guys could give me your feedback or any of your own ideas. I'd rather run it by you guys first before posting about it in the other part of the forum.
Mods I think you would have to discuss it with admins, or I might have to put this int he suggestions forum if we think this is a good idea ultimaely.
Well here goes anyways...
I think we should expand the gaming forum a little bit. Like there are 3 sticky's at the top of the forum currently, I would like to see sub groups divided up sort of like that. But I mean game-specific.
Up until this past school year, I was a very active member in the BBF clan(Baptized By Fire). I pretty much was active in the Halo 2 and Chromehounds sect of the clan when I was active. If you look around there a bit, you might gain an idea of what I would like to see somewhat.
I would like to either get a FH clan going on respective systems, or at least coordinate some sort of weekly game night or something where we could try and get together and play soem games online together.
Like for example in my idea, one of the sub groups would be Rainbow Six: Vegas. There, you could discuss online strategies, as well as times when to get on to play.
So I guess it would be an "Online" specific sub group/forum.
We could make one main thread for the online coordination of that game. And it doesn't have to be ultra structured or anything(the clan if we made one), like BBF has scheduled practices(part of why I couldn't stay as active as I'd like).
I know our forum isn't as large as BBF, so if we ever wanted to pursue a clan in seriousness, we'd likely have to recruit(like I was recruited through Halo 2 by them). But I'm sure for most of us, this would be a just for fun thing.
I don't play online on most of my games, but I would like to play online more. I just don't usually like to play online unless it's with at least one "friend." So sometimes that limits me. I know I have a ton of achievements to gain because of my lack of online play, lol. But I figured if we had an area dedicated to getting together for online play, we would promote more of a interactive atmosphere in the gaming forum and maybe expose some people to online play who otherwise don't do it(for example people who always hate getting teamed up with screaming 12 year olds).
I'm really just throwing this idea out there, and I realize it'd have to be set up for each system and stuff, but I think it's not a terrible idea. If you have the time, just surf around the site I linked above(the game specific threads), and maybe you can see what I mean. I just really think that this is a way to make the gaming forum an even better aspect of the forum overall, and maybe even promote even more traffic to the site.
