I was real surprised to see this. The guy is a good player, but he does not deserve to be the highest paid DT in football. You could argue that he isn't even the best DT on his own team considering Shaun Rogers is a force when healthy. I guess this is what happens when Dwight Freeney becomes the highest paid defensive player in NFL history.

I'm more suprised that the Ford family would fork over that much money. Redding is unknown to a lot of people but he is very good. With the inflation of the amounts contracts it's no suprise to me that he's getting so much.
The guy played in a horrible defence and yet put up some great numbers and as a DT was beast.
If lions do better as a team you aer going to hear about him.

the bigger story here is Drew Rosenhaus is crying because Kennard McGuire will start to get more calls.

All the radio programs here in Detriot have been talking about this so much well that and the Gary Sheffield comments but he in no way shape or form deserves to be paid that kind of money.

He is a big body, and is one of the few bright spots on that D. Great move for them to lock him up

$20 million over 3 years. Not bad for a young DT who in his first year at the under tackle made 8 sacks. Remember in the Cover 2 the under tackle is probably the most important part to making the Cover 2 work.
