I just experienced the most enjoyable game of Madden 2003 on my PS2 that I think I will ever have in my life time... and so I just have to tell some peeps about it. Listen up!!! (Ahem)
Oh wait... first a little background info. I live in Utah. Most of the bandwagon jumpers around here have gravitated to the Denver camp over the years. I can't figure out if it's just because they feel close proximity to Denver being some 400 miles away, or if they all have a mule fetish. Scary place I live in... I know! Anyways...
Playing Madden 2003 while I salivate over the coming season. Playing a mock up of the NFL on my PS2 has a somewhat calming effect on my incessant urge to watch football when there is none to watch. It's the Divisional Playoff game and I'm hosting the Denver Donkeys. I, of course, will be assuming the role of the benevolent warriors in aqua and coral.
It was an utter blowout of the most extreme proportions imaginable. I don't know how this could be any better, and it has probably tainted Madden 2003 for me for life hereafter...
Final Score: Broncos - 14 Dolphins - 84
Here's a few of my favorite stats from the end game report:
Jay Fiedler:
QB Rating - 158.3
271 Yards Passing, 6 TDs, 0 Ints
17 of 21 with a 12.9 yard average
Ricky Williams: 20 carries for 147 yards, 2 TDs
C. Chambers: 6 catches for 111 yards, 1 TD
D. Thompson (I traded Gadsden for him. LOL):
4 catches for 77 yards, 2 TDs
Travis Minor: 1 catch for 29 yards, 1 TD
Alonzo Mayes: 1 catch for 5 yards, 1 TD
Jed Weaver: 1 catch for 6 yards, 1 TD
Sam Madison: 10 tackles, 2 Ints for 2 Def TDs
Patrick Surtain: 3 tackles, 1 sack (CB Blitz), 2 Ints for 1 Def TD
Brock Marion: 7 tackles, 2 Ints for 1 Def TD
Jason Taylor: 6 tackles, 3 for loss, 2 sacks
(Both sacks I injured Griese and put him out for a series or two and Beurlein had to come in.)
I held Terrell Davis (game was made prior to his career ending injury) to 5 carries for 6 yards. He did score one TD but that was setup at the 1 yard line due to a deep throw to Rod Smith where Freeman got called for Pass Interference. I should go trade his lame *** for Sammy Knight.
Due to the massive run stopping defense that I am able to put out, I find that teams tend to start throwing non stop against me. While I tend to pull alot of picks, that also means they score alot of yardage through the air. I have both the best run defense and also the worst pass defense in the league.
Griese had a 29.9 rating going 16 of 36 for 262 yards, no TD throws, and 5 picks. During one of his sideline stints after injuring him with JT, I nailed Beuerlein while he was releasing and caused him to throw the sixth pick. LOL
I really don't hate Griese that much... it's only when he's wearing those Donkey colors that I wanna lay the wood on him with JT.
Anyways... I just felt like sharing. Damn, I feel good!
