It seems like every year there is a tragedy or some kind of mass murder that occurs on the week before April 20th. Waco, Oklahoma City, Columbine, Va. Tech, etc. Has anyone else noticed this trend?

It isn't a coincidence, they do it because of Hitler's birthday and other various reasons.
