Help with Madden 08

So I am new to football games and very new to the Madden games in general.

I picked up a used copy from Gamestop and am trying to play it. The problem is I don't really understand the options.

I just want to play a regular season with the Dolphins. How do I do this? I don't want to build a team, I don't want to draft. I just want to have the 2007 regular schedule and play that, with the possibilty of the playoffs and superbowl.

I am not hooking this up to the internet either. I just want a simple game. Can someone help me!!!

before starting the franchise mode turn off the fantasy draft or fantasy roster option

Start a franchise and don't go on to the second year.
