The question is why? Is it just to look cool? What I find troubling is that it doesn't mention structural engineering anywhere.

I also hope that those renderings are not final. One of the issues with modern architecture is the attempt to make each building stand out like a beauty contestant on a stage. It creates a lot of visual clutter and is a big reason that cities with strict architectural standards (Paris, London, San Francisco) are the ones that people like best.
