Karen Guregian, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) WR Matt Slater (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) is on the bubble to make the final roster. He would be a candidate for the practice squad if he were released.

One of Coach Dorrell's kids from UCLA. He'll probably get a look.

now thats a bit interesting, i do not know anything about him but it would seem a receiver on their bubble should equal a receiver at least 4th on our depth chart

The problem with him is he's not really a receiver and he's not really a safety. He can play both in a pinch and is more or less a special teams player. I'm sure they'd prefer to PS him and develop him.
5rd is lol to me though. He was a 5th round pick.

Slater made the team as a free safety, KR, special team player.
New England Patriots safety Matthew Slater, center, goes up and breaks up a pass

With Slater making team as WR/ST/DB/return guy..Chad Jackson was deemed expendable and cut.....Ventrone is another versatile player that BB kept.......looks like another slot type reciever that can play DB and ST .....
