Looking at Bill Parcells' previous 10 first-round picks, four were spent on linebackers. Two were used on corners. The other four were on an offensive tackle, defensive end, wide receiver and quarterback.

Based on the Tuna's history and the first 24 picks of my 2009 NFL Mock Draft, I'm betting that this is either Larry English or Darius Butler. And considering that corner is now a much greater need in the wake of Andre Goodman's departure, I'll go with the latter.

Miami has nothing across from Will Allen. The team signed Eric Green, but that was just to a 2-year deal worth $6 million. Green will be used for depth; nothing more. Cornerback is still a huge need, with rush linebacker being a close second option here (Larry English or Aaron Maybin).

Joey Porter really slowed down toward the end of the 2008 campaign (one sack in his final four games) and the Dolphins could use another body to get to the quarterback; excluding Porter, no Miami player had more than five sacks. Even worse, the Dolphins failed to register a single sack against Baltimore in their first-round playoff loss.

Ted Ginn and Davone Bess both have their strengths, but neither wideout is a massive target. At 6-3, 207, Brian Robiskie could be the solid split end Miami was looking for when it signed Ernest Wilford.

The Dolphins just re-signed Channing Crowder, but he can't seem to stay healthy. This is their insurance policy.

Jason Ferguson just turned 34, and his contract expires after the 2009 season. The Dolphins will need to acquire a new nose tackle in the near future.

Wow!! I would LOVE that draft if it happened! Pretty good redzone offense with Robiskie & Barwin.

I would rather have Frantz Joseph over Beckwith. Otherwise, I could live with that Draft.

Weaknesses:
Does not have the size or bulk that you look for...Durability is a big concern...Is not overly strong or physical...Isn't a big hitter...Not a great pass rusher or blitzer...Isn't very explosive...Struggles to take on and shed blockers..Poor hands / ball skills...Disappointing senior year

i really love the idea of us getting robiskie. seems like a parcells type player, smart heady team, bloodlines are a plus. i would be happy with those early round picks

people think Robiskie is not #1 WR material, did Chad Johnson run a 4.4?

I tire of a guy being marginalized because he doesn't run a 4.4

Beckwith as mentioned will not make many "wow" plays, but he will do the dirty work that allows a team to win games. He is a tough, physical presence in the middle of the defense and should help to control the running attack of opposing offenses. Beckwith could get some interest from 3-4 teams as he can handle bigger blockers, absorb contact and still make plays on the ball. he could handle carrying more weight as he has not maxed out his frame. Beckwith is a good inside linebacker who could be exposed by his lack of top line speed in the passing game.

I agree, that's not a draft I'd be very excited about after the first two picks.

Obviously, I like this draft. Robiskie I think is on our radar alot more than people think. Everybody talkin Nicks. I think that is now way off due to his being overweight. Not a BP guy anymore! forget it. But Robiskie? Robiskie has what we are looking for. That is character, work ethic, bloodlines, size.....

But if Brace is still there at 56, forget it....we will still put trust in Brandon London to come out of the woodwork.

no he isnt. He cant get open, he has decent hands, isnt game fast. he doesnt use his hight to his full advantage. He would be London, no more, no reason to waste a high pick on him. Crab, Maclin, DHB, Nicks, Harvin, Britt, Robiske. Britt is BY FAR better!

I always love the comments from people about how player X is garbage, too slow or we`d never draft him. Did you think we`d take back to back DE`s last year, or two RB`s for that matter.

Last year there was all this hype about these awesome recievers coming out and none went in the first round, what has changed this year except for Crabtree.
How many of them did anything, DeSean was good but he was what the 4th guy taken. Harding had this great redzone frame and did nothing, he had a hard time even getting on the field.

I understand liking one draft over another but to out right call one stupid or garbage just shows the ignorance of people that have no idea what their talking about. The experts can`t even get draft`s right so what makes the critics here any smarter. I`d love to see some of you that constantly insult other peoples drafts see how close you are after we draft and I bet you`ll look just as silly as you state others are now.

Anyways BP traditionally takes WR`s later so I really could see him waiting until the 4th or later if he even draft`s one. We could easily take two OLB`s, two ILB`s, two CB`s, a NT, we also need OT depth and then you have to figure on a player dropping that no one predicted and we go BPA like we did with Merling last year.

I would love to get Robiskie with our 2b selection with OLB and CB taken with our first two picks. A guy who runs great great routes, is technically sound and catches the ball is way ahead of most of the WR`s entering the draft. Look at how Ginn is still developing his technical skills, I don`t expect any WR to come in and make an impact right away.

Robiskie is a solid player, but there are other players I like more if we go WR, and I'm not just talking about guys like DHB,Nicks, and Britt.
