NEW DELHI (AFP) – An Indian man who fathered seven daughters has not washed for 35 years in an apparent attempt to ensure his next child is a boy, newspapers reported.

Kailash "Kalau" Singh replaces bathing and brushing his teeth with a "fire bath" every evening when he stands on one leg beside a bonfire, smokes marijuana and says prayers to Lord Shiva, according to the Hindustan Times.

"It's just like using water to take a bath," Kalau was reported as saying. "A fire bath helps kill germs and infection in the body."

Kalau, 63, from a village outside the holy city of Varanasi, outraged his family by refusing to take a ritual dip in the river Ganges even after his brother died five years ago.

I knew a guy who hadn't taken a shower in like 30 years because he had a near-death incident in his bathtub when he was a kid, and as a result, was terrified of water.

Depends on what you mean by "Shower" or "Bath". I once went 2 months in Kuwait without a hot/cold running water shower, but, every day we took a "Whore's bath" with bottled water outside the track (Armored vehicle).

I went 45 days without anything but whores baths during summer gunnery at FT Hood in 1995.

Yes, the track smelled like feet and ***.

Or the guy can take a Mexican shower and just put cologne on everyday

Probably for a week about 10 or 9 years ago. I was on a hiking trip through the Appalachian Mountains. Then again, it did rain. Does that count?

When i was a kid (young) i used to never take showers/baths in the summer. It wasn't until Middle School and HS that i showered daily.

Queen Elizabeth I only took like 1 bath in her entire life and she ruled England for 45 years.

I went camping for 46 days straight with my wife 6 years ago and bathed in a creek in Colorado twice... better than a bath IMHO...
