There are very few music groups that speak to me the way these guys did to me. Maybe it's because I was a young soldier stationed around Baltimore, and, I sort of get the desperation and abject "alone" of that city.

I heard you let somebody got their fingers into you..... *Ugh..* That lyric still hits me like a hammer.

I needed the winding guitar.

I guess there may not be too many that would stand beside me now/

All by myself in Germany. Man, do I remeber this song. Don't think I've listened to it until tonight.

Just sort of Baltimore. Not as applicable, but, /She parks her car outside my house/and takes her clothes off/She says she's close to understanding jesus/Then she knows shes more than just a little misunderstood/she has trouble acting normal when she's nervous.

Wow.

I don't know...I'm sort of drunk and meandering through old playlists.

"august and everything after" has to be one of my favorite albums.

Well hell has officially frozen over. Jared and I have something in common...

A critically -underappreciated, but terrific group. At one time I was involved in a business service where Adam Duritz's dad was one the major competitors.

Anyway, even beyond the obvious reasons, this is my favorite of their songs:

I grew up on Counting Crows. August and Everything After is one of my favorite albums. My dad loves them and they seemed to always be playing in his car when I was little. Good nostalgia.
