Just got back from vacation, during which time I got to do a lot of barhopping, during which time I got to see a lot of generic cover bands, and I would just like to send this desperate plea out to the universe:

Can everyone please stop playing "Brickhouse"?

Is there a reason it has to be in every band's repertoire?

And while we're at it, can we also put "Play That Funky Music White Boy," "Brown Eyed Girl," "Get Down Tonight," and "Mustang Sally" in the penalty box too? I will never enjoy these songs again.

Bar bands are kind of like wedding DJ's. They always have to have certains songs in their collection. Almost every wedding I have been at has always had the following songs played: Macarena, You Make Me Wanna Shout, YMCA, and the Chicken Dance.
