Senate Approves Pay Increase for Itself.....Again

The Senate voted itself a pay raise for the fifth straight year, boosting the annual salary to about $158,000 in 2004.


Feingold said that with an annual increase of about $3,400 slated for next year, an election year, members of Congress will have received a $21,000 raise in their pay over the past five years.

I'd be willing to bet that there are alot of folx that made 21k period! know how we could ba;ance the budget and get rid of the deficit? Make a constitutional amendment that says that all elected AND appointed officials must surrender 10% of all salaries ANS benefits until the budget is balanced and all deficits are paid off. Think "they" would pass something like that?? :yell: :yell: ;) :lol: :lol:
