Lions likely will put in claim for Browns' top receiver, who was released Wednesday, November 12, 2003

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are expected to put in a claim for the Cleveland Browns' leading receiver Kevin Johnson, who was unexpectedly released on Tuesday.
The Lions have until 4 p.m. today to issue a claim for Johnson, who is on waivers. There are five teams ahead of the Lions who will be awarded Johnson if they put in a claim (it's the inverse order of team's records this season). The Oakland Raiders are first in line and the other teams ahead of the Lions are the Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers, Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars.
