View Full Version : graham at 1, benn at 2, what FS at 3.
If we go Graham rd 1, Benn rd 2, who will be available in round 3 that can start right away inthe FS role?
And I believe we go TE in round 4 or 3 this year 100%.

Marcellus Bowman, the Boomakat. #8 BC To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. I think we can get this cat late. We should go after Joe McKnight in the third. Also, Roderick Rollins, #20 BC To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Also, 2 Ohio State safeties are very good prospects, #21 and #4 To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Difficult situation. I don't like the FS class after the big two. I don't hate N. Allen, but I don't love him either, and it sounds like we'd have to draft him in the 2nd - don't like the value there.
In the 3rd or later? Maybe they have a guy that could "fit the system," but I'm not head-over-heels for anyone I'm seeing.

Don't want R. Jones before the 5th (we don't have), and I'd hate the pick before the 4th.

I'm not so sure Benn is there at 43.

Maybe Morgan Burnett or Major Wright? Kam Chancellor? BUT they have talked with Jones.

Yea I wouldn't be shocked to see The Pats or Cowboys taking Benn in rd.1 might slip to 2 but we would for sure have to trade up for him or demaryius.

How come?

How come?
Looks like a SS to me. Before the news that he was visiting Miami, almost no one had him on Miami's radar. I remember exactly one person mocking him to us - believe it was in the 4th - before the news broke. Now, people have him in the 2nd and 3rd.

I would go with NT Cam Thomas with our third rounder...this would probably be our next biggest need after we take Graham and Benn. I think we need a beast NT a little more then a Safety....we can probably pick up a decent Safety on the waiver wire but quality NT's are harder to come by. It depends who is left on the big board come draft day. I can't wait....just a little over a month away.

i understand we need a free safety but we need talent talent talent...i wouldn't lock myself into any particular position in any round...go by what's on the board...
i agree with others on here that outside the top 2 i'm not sure i see the value in a free safety in the first 3 rounds...but i would consider nate allen there very much...depending on what's on the board elsewhere...go with the talent...

as for reshad jones i think he has the makings of a very good strong safety...i don't see free safety at all...

chris cook has versatility...no doubt...
i'll just caution you all that i've been a season ticket holding uva fan for the last 8 years or so i guess and i've seen every game of chris cooks at uva and while he impressed me his freshman season before he broke his leg the following year whe he returned i saw him as safety some and i didn't think he showed great instincts or ball skills there...when he returned to uva after missing a year due to grades i believe he never showed me great nfl cb talent but at the same time uva played a lot of off man and when he got to the senior bowl he showed some nice press man skills in 1 on 1 drills....
i guess for me i feel better about taking a true free safety than a cb/s combo at least in the first 3 rounds if i'm looking for a guy who could start at fs from day 1...and from what i understand cook has made his way into top 3 round consideration...
i wouldn't take him that high though off what i've seen...

Burnett in the 3rd if he's still there.

Sign me up for Graham in Round 1 and Benn in Round 2 - it's my dream scenario.
I just don't think Benn will still be on the board though...

I'd take Benn or Thomas at 43, assuming they're still there. I'd prefer Benn though.
