Not a track guy playing football, but he is a football player that happens to run track. Jeff Demps is not only winning football games at UF, but has his sights set on dominating the NCAA sprint competitions. He and Chris Rainey made up probably the fastest backfield in college.

Earlier this month, Demps won the NCAA title in the 100 (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) meters in an incredible 9.96 seconds, though the time won’t count as an official career best because it was aided by a 2.5 mph wind. Still, Demps finished far ahead of runner-up Rondell Sorrillo (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) (10.09). Demps also won the 60-meter indoor title in March.
His fastest official time this year came at the SEC championships, when he ran a 10.06 in the 100 final, tied for the fifth fastest time by an American man this year. (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) His career best is 10.01, a junior world record set at South Lake High.
Qualifying for the men’s 100 at the USA championships begins tomorrow.
The sophomore missed spring practice so he could concentrate on track, but the time has come for him to concentrate on football, with the summer conditioning program so important.

Of course he's not soft. And of course he didn't injure himself in the 1st qtr of the Sugar bowl vs Cinci.

Well if anyone should know that he's a football player it would be you guys. Remember that punt he blocked for a safety?

I remember... Demps looked like a track star coming off the edge.
