The University of Miami ranked first among BCS schools with an 86 percent graduation rate. And, yes, it matters. It has to matter. If you're a school, if you're a fan of the school, if you're just a follower of the ins and outs of big-time sports, Miami assuring that players get to the finish line better than any other major football school is somethig to note. Now ...
But the very strange, too. Miami instituted a new policy this year of not announcing opposing players' names over the public-address system. I wasn't aware of this until getting a couple of e-mails after the Florida State game. One read: "Is Miami that petty and bush that they won't even tell fans who on the other team carried the ball?"
Evidently, yes.
