There's a special social dynamic that occurs in meetings, Montague says, that can not only make us feel stupid, but also make us act that way. All it takes is a colleague who seems smarter than us when he/she does a presentation, says the study’s lead author Kenneth T. Kishida, a research scientist at the institute. That can make us feel stupid -- and that can get in the way of how our brains process information. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Meetings enrage me.
When I was in management and I had the power to call meetings, I would call them weekly. We would all touch base. My people were all charged to touch base with others. Concernes/items would be laid on the table but everyone knew the commanders intent was to get disputes figgured out swiftly. Meetings are key, but utilizing a structure so that a meeting is a known quantity makes the process go smoothly.

Completely agree. Meetings = get paid to daydream time for me.
