Tannehill needs work with progression reading but can be coached. Must learn to validate safeties after snap. Threw well outside the numbers.

Tannehill better prospect than Ponder. NIce feel in pocket. Good pocket mobility re: lack of experience. Willing to make stick throws.

The Ryan Tannehill train will build so much speed some draft day that he will be well gone before 8. I believe this guy can be and elite franchise qb especially because the transition would be smooth with thr dolphins. I would hate to have to move up to get him bit if it has to b done and this is their guy, then go get him and let him run this wco.

I have to admit I like a QB who can make throws and move around the pocket and if need be - he will require the D to "spy" in a few years so a guy who can take it up field with 4.5 speed is going to be able to convert 3rd downs is huge - If he was there at #8 I would take him but I wouldn't trade up to get this guy

Weeden played in a college spread offense that anybody can play in, he also has poor footwork and cant throw on the run which is needed to run the WC offense, Tannehill was a WR and switched to a QB and adapted very quickly, not only did he adapt but he ran a pro-style WC offense and did it effectively with only 18 starts, he can also throw on the run very well, Tannehill has waaay more upside than weeden does and he is better suited to run a pro-style offense, weeden is another blaine gabbert.

i think the browns will go with trent richardson. holmgren had levens in green bay and alexander in seattle. richardson makes the browns instantly better , more so than blackmon. i think and hope they will stick with mccoy atleast past the 1st rd.

Now by 8 years your assuming Weeden can succeed early and into his late 30's. Let's not forget why he's older.... he chose baseball and the lavish contract, failed, and returned to football. Drew Henson anyone ? He has more experience at QB than Tannehill ofcourse. Thus he should be better pre-snap. Lets not ignore the spread offense factor, tho. These are things you learn over time. Even putting touch on your passes.

With Tannehill you have the youth, upside, the special abilities, & experience in a pro system......which just so happens to be our system. With Weeden you could be stuck trying to develop a QB on the wrong side of 30. For a late 1st or second round pick its worth a shot. But you don't take a 28 yr old QB from a spread offense who surely benefitted from the best WR in the nation with your top 10 pick. If you were to do that... the guy better start lighting it up reeeal quick-like.

I did not see Tannehill throwing with anticipation that much. I also have an issue that his team did not win much. Trading up for him would be silly. Keep your picks.

If he is there at 8, fine, let's talk about running the card up with his name on it. However, keep your picks overall.

You'd rather take ANOTHER OL in the top half of round 1 ? A guard or RT @ #8 to boot ? Yeeesh! :err: If we do that, the guy better be able to replace Jake Long when we cant afford to resign him, due to all the prior investments. And even if Blackmon fell to #8 i think we'd pass.... it goes against everything the new offense stands for. I think Blackmon is over-rated anyway. I can't fathom passing on a potential franchise QB for those options. No frickin way !

Should qb or trading down not be available options..... i'd like to see us do anything but draft OL/WR/HB.....

...if he works out and we get 8ish years how is that bad? It's not even like you have to pay rookies all that much money anymore. The point is that if you like the guy you get him regardless of age. If you let age be a factor you're clouding your judgement based on a POSSIBILITY of more years that may never come. It's a weird, overthought argument. I'd take 8 years no problem. I'd never look back.

Again, if he doesn't work out, then it never mattered what his age was. I see some teams kicking themselves because they put too much weight on the age thing.
