Okay, since it's approaching Halloween, I thought it would be interesting for the members to share any experiences with ghosts that they've had.
There have been a few odd things that I've experienced which really couldn't be attributed to understood physical causes, but, the punch lines aren't really worth going through all the set up to get there. However, I've had one experience that absolutely terrified the crap out of me.
I was about 21 at the time, living with my parents and driving to school each day. Depending upon what time my first class was, my mom would come and wake me up to get ready to head out for the drive.
It must have been sometime shortly after dawn because I remember afterwards turning the light on, but there was still enough light in the room to see what was going on. Anyway, you know how you'll sometimes when you're asleep some external noise will wake you up, but at first it gets incorporated into your dream? This was one of those types of persistent external physical noises.
I can't remember what I was dreaming but I remember hearing someone fumbling with my keys/wallet/change/crap on the nightstand by my bed. It kept on and I slowly started gaining consciousness. The noise persisted. Groggy, I looked over at the nightstand and my first thought was it must be my mom coming to get me up and she was just fiddling with something. As I was gaining consciousness though, I recognized it was a guy with blonde stringy hair. My first thought was it must have been one of my weekend party friends who had blond hair, but I'm then realizing, "no, it's a weekday". All this time I'm growing more awake. I'm not sure how long of a period I'm talking about here from the first glance until I realize what I'm looking at ... maybe 10 seconds (?) .. Anyway, whoever it was was STILL fiddling around with the crap on my nightstand. At that point, I realize I don't know who in the HELL this is and I sit straight up in bed and YELL a great big "AHHHHHHHH". This "thing" then looked right at me, while I'm sitting up, fully awake at this point and kinda turned away from the nightstand just a little bit and looked directly back at me. I can't remember his face, but he had stringy, dirty looking blonde hair, and his face was marked up like he had really bad acne or something. Anyway, I'm sitting straight up and staring at this guy and over a period of like, probably 3-5 seconds, he just fades away.
I'd pass it off on being some sort of waking dream thing or something, but the problem with that is I was awoken from sleep by an external noise that persisted until I screamed at whatever this guy was.
Honest to gosh, absolute truth.
Let's hear yours.
