Do electric and solar power cars have mufflers? I know hybrids do, but straight electric and solar don’t, right?

If there is no exhaust, whats the need for a muffler?

I would say no.

No mufflers/exhaust pipes on any of the ones I've seen.

You are right. No muffler needed for any automobile that isn't powered by an internal combustion engine.

But I do have a random thought on the subject:

I realize that there would be no need for a muffler in the traditional sense of a tube with a baffled chamber...but...technically, there could be some apparatus that muffles the sound of the electric motor, which could just be some type of casing or something, but would technically still be a muffler.

So the answer may not be that simple. :tongue:
