i need a little help. i started a football thread on my forums, and one guy ended up throwing up a "football players are weak, rugby players are tough" post. saying that rugby players dont wear pads, and only leave the field if they get a broken bone or concussion but nfl players get injured all the time while they're all padded up and sit out most of the season.

i wanted to find a (or a few) video clips online (for free) i can link to showing the hard hits that people take in nfl football to highlight how much harder the tackles are in american football.

i have only seen a few small vid. clips of rugby, but the hits weren't nearly as hard as most of the nfl hits i see.

any help would be GREATLY appriciated.

wow! thanks for all the quick responses, there's a lot of good stuff there. i will use these, but i was also hoping for a kinda compilation video of hit after hit. kinda like those pwned videos, except with just nfl football hits. i know, i know, beggers can't be choosers...

thanks a lot everyone, im gonna have to go through all these and try to pick out the best to make my point.

watch more...but make it rugby league far more exciting...:D lol

You have to take in to account the rules and how they differ in the two sports and the gameplans/strategies are different...

NFL players come at you from all angels thus the resulting "big hit" is far more frequent as opposed to rugby where the players always come from the same distance and direction...

but then I wouldn't say being able to hit somone hard makes you a tougher person it's getting up again that counts...and rugby players can do that without the pads... :wink:

yea, i wasn't arguing that any one was tougher or whatever. we already talked about some of the differences and such, but this one guy was saying that american football players were whimps because they were getting hurt all the time while wearing pads. just wanted to show the severity of some of the hits they take.

we even came across a page compairing the two...

like i said, i don't know much of anything about rugby, but the thread in question was started as a "who is excited about the nfl season starting/post your favorite team" and one guy turned it into a "football players are whimps and i wish they would all die since they are mostly all criminals" thread. he was being a jerk, while one of our new zealand members was trying to help explain rugby to me. anyway, thanks for the vids everyone...
