one show down - 2 to go - what a great show... they are definitely a live band - dave's drummer and bass player are money - we were right in the front up real close - anyone living in s.e. fl. i highly recommend it - took some great pics...

My boss went last night. Didn't get to ask him how it was though.

Nice catch. Way to overachieve.

I saw him at The Gorge (pictured) and it was an awesome show; the main act always starts about an hour before sunset, which becomes the backdrop for the stage as the show progresses. Magical.

See, I always hated Coral Sky (West Palm Beach) because of all the damn seats. Granted I was always going to see rock shows. So seats surrounding the stage were a real drag.

your right about the rock shows unless you got seats right up front - its perfect though for bands like dave, the cure etc. - sit in the lawn - ease the seat back...

i remember at buzz bake sale one year at coral sky....pennywise was the main band that year i think.

anyways we were in the seats chilling then when pennywise started playing everyone started rushing the "mosh pit area"...........so i took off...

hurdled like 50 rows of seats till i got to the 5foot fence bordering the mosh pit area...some huge skinhead guy helped me over the fence which i fell smack onto the ground after getting over the fence....

it was hilarious and awesome all at once pennywise goes off live...gotta be careful at their shows

at coral sky ive seen:

aerosmith twice
dave matthews twice
metallica
stone temple pilots
the guy from alice in chains (cant think of his name atm)
plus like 3 buzz bake sales...they used to be good

i always liked coral sky's layout....i mean if you want to go to a rock show w/o seats you go to the house of blues in orlando, or the old edge in miami (the chili pepper now?) or some small obscure club.

the best show i have ever been to was Guttermouth in downtown west palm for 8 bucks...there were like 15 of us that all knew each other and we controlled the pits LOL awesome time...one of my friends dropkicked a security guard during the song Lucky the luckiest donkey rofl

I went to the last Lollapalooza in '97 there. And that happened when Korn played. Only this time it wasn't fun because people were ripping the seats from the concrete and throwing them. The seats were connected in threes by these thin plates of metal. We were lucky that people weren't getting their brains spilled all over the place. I remember MTV News had the footage all over the place the next day. Aside from Korn and Tool, it was a pretty crappy event. '96 at the Fairgrounds was much better.

For the Bake Sales, I usually ended up around the second stage mostly. You could be right up front in a real rock atmosphere.

I saw a lot of great shows down in that club. Best show was probably a Local H gig I caught. It was mostly Chilli Pepper when I went. Who knows now.

I didn't really care for Jerry Cantrell at that Metallica show. Was kinda boring. My friend equated it to drinking Bud Light. Days of the New was much better IMO.

local H was a cool *** band.....omg you just made me think of ANOTHER cool band... Soul Coughing. kinda wierd but they got some cool songs.

ya the chilipepper .....i saw NOFX there once and the whole club was like one big *** pit....ionno.....saw the mighty mighty bosstones there also...they were awesome live in a small club...of course we saw em like 3 or 4 times besides that at the bake sales....

small club is always > big places.

bands ive seen in small clubs:

bad religion (x2)
nofx (x3)
less than jake
the descendants (awesome)
hepcat
rancid
guttermouth
pennywise
rise against
alkaline trio
...drawing blank

mad caddies
pie tasters

oh ya one of the best shows i went to was the offspring, with AFI opening for them. this was back in like....1996? AFI was nuts back then they weren't all dressed in black and stuff....they played real fast punk.

Dexter HOlland from offspring was smokin a fat J on stage during the song Mota (Mota is espanol for weed)

good times...good times

I agree, Days of the New were very crisp. Cantrells oncore "lunatics on the grass" was weird to me. At least I got to sing Would. Metallica rocked.
