Dog Search

Hey everyone:

I am looking to get me another dog. My dog died in November, 2005.
I live in a two bedroom condo on a golf course right by a park. They only allow dogs under 18 inches at the shoulder where I live (so I am guessing this would be around 40 pounds or less). I want a dog that is pretty low maintenance, and not a yappy dog or an ankle biter. Any suggestions on what type of breed I should get? I am watching my sister-in-law's sheltie and she is a pretty mellow dog but she sheds a lot. It doesn't have to be a purebred....pound puppies make great dogs as well.

I have a boxer thats a year and half now and its the best dog Ive ever had... very smart and social... but they're just a little over you limits you listed... and have more energy then any living thing Ive ever been around

I have a couple of Shiba inus. I like that they are small dogs that don't look small. They do however shed quite a bit. Here's some info on them:

Bassett Hound!

Just hope you get lucky and get one that doesn't like to bark. But they are great, lovable dogs.

English bulldog. I wanna get one. I can watch TV with it and throw a good elbow into em once in a while and he won't care.

Gonna name em Bunker.

You could always go the route of the panty droppin' dogs like Chihuahua, Dauchsand, mini Greyhound. Basically anything under 15 pounds works.

Or..a french bulldog.

Thanks everyone....good info. The Newfoundland is a great dog but he probably eats like a horse. I like the French Bulldog with the big ears, and I have seen some English Bulldogs puppies that cost between $1200-$2500....Dachshounds are pretty neat, and the Yorkie is a nice dog. I am going to check out petfinder.com and some rescue groups here, along with the pound. If I had a fenced yard I would get 2-3 dogs, and i could get some bigger dogs.

The best dog I ever had was a Doberman, if you gotta go small you can get a Minature Doberman like below. That is not a pics of me, just what I found with google.

Bro I have two dogs Sheba, and Sammy. They are bigger dogs then you can have bro. My nephew has a great dog! Her name is Foxy, and she is very low maintenance, and very loving. She is a Blue Heeler.

This is just a general picture from the internet. Good luck bro.
