Kris Brown a Hero

Quote:

A REAL KICK

Houston kicker Kris Brown is a hero -- and it has nothing to do with the four field goals he kicked Oct. 30, including a game-winning 40-yarder with 2:45 left.

About a month ago, Brown befriended a boy named Nicolas Florial, who had been battling a brain tumor for the past six years. One reason Brown felt so much for Nicolas is because when he was 13, his 12-year-old sister battled cancer.

But Brown received a telephone call the day before the Browns-Texans game from Nicolas' dad with the news that his son had passed on.

"I asked his dad if there was anything that my wife and I could do for his family," Brown recounted after the victory. "He said, 'Kris, there is one thing that you could do: You guys can just go out and get a win.'

"I told the guys for us to be able to give this family and this little boy what we gave them (Sunday), even though he wasn't here, I knew he was with us. My condolences go out to his family, and it's just one of those situations where you look at someone's child that has so much courage. Especially with what we have been going through just compels a comparison. I think it really puts things in perspective."
Touching story im glad the texans actually got a win...Congrats

Wow. That's a wonderful story! Kudos to K. Brown for befriending such a nice kid who was suffering like that. It was nice to see Houston get the win for him.
