"Language Police" Ban "Old", "Blind", "Sea"

Quote:
She says a lot of people are having fun finding new titles for Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea" which presents problems with every word except "and" and "the." Ravitch said old is ageist, man is sexist and sea can't be used in case a student lives inland and doesn't grasp the concept of a large body of water.
Are you kidding me?? This is getting ridiculous. Like George Carlin said, "It's the 'p*ssyfication' of this country". :yell: Like banning dodgeball wasn't bad enough.

I saw this woman on a lot of political debate/news shows. She's right that text books are way too PC. You can't say paperboy? WTF?

Capt. Dick........

Hey, the 'Old Man and the Sea' was written by Ernest Hemingway who lived in the Keys, you're always out on the sea and you live in the Keys, any chance you were an inspiration for that one?

Nope, not me Jaydog. .....I did know the old fisherman who was the son of the capt. who used to take Hemingway fishing. He`s been dead a long time now. His name was Joe Russel. I was a 1st mate in those days.
