mike patton? Next Velvet Revolver Singer?

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdail...volver-singer/

So we’ll name ‘em for him. Tell us your picks for who should rock the mic with VR, and on Monday we’ll reveal the winner of the Rock List: Next Velvet Revolver Singer. In the meantime, here’s who we’re lobbying for:
• Phil Anselmo: All the haters who thought VR didn’t rock hard enough with the glam-happy Weiland would roll out the red carpet for the former voice of Pantera.
• Chris Cornell: Because not only does Audioslave not want him, but having Timbaland produce his solo album and cashing in off American Idol don’t seem like the best career options for the former Soundgarden frontman right now.
• Mike Patton: The man is a vocal chameleon and can fill the role of Rose, Weiland or anybody else for that matter. Any contract with Velvet Revolver should include an opt-out clause that allows Patton to reunite Mr. Bungle.
• Trent Reznor: He did just dismiss his touring band.
• Axl Rose: For obvious reasons. If that were to happen, they should give Dizzy Reed a call too.

Mike Patton, Tim "Ripper" Owens and Jason Newsted Recorded EP at SXSW

posted Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 09:35:28 AM by deathbringer.
Like planets aligning once in a few hundred years, rock and metal icons Tim "Ripper" Owens (Yngwie Malmsteen, Beyond Fear, ex-Judas Priest, ex-Iced Earth), Jason Newsted (Voivod, Rock Star SuperNova, ex-Echobrain, ex-Metallica, ex-Flotsam and Jetsam), and Mike Patton (Mondo Cane, Crudo, Peeping Tom, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas, ex-Faith No More) found themselves at the same place at the same time last month at the SXSW music and interactive convention in Austin, TX. The icing on the cake is that the trio ended up talking shop and recording together.

i doubt mike patton would ever agree to a project like that - besides, he currently working on his new project "Mondo Cane", a collection of covers of italian pop songs from the 50's and 60's - his last tomahawk record was insane!

Mike Patton is a singing genius that boy really uses his voice as an instrument.
One of my all time fave singers. I just cant see him in velvet revolver, But he's done it before with faith no more. So who knows
