NEW Friday the 13th flickThat's right, another one. May go back to HIS origins, per the article below, which would be the way to go. But I can't imagine how they could make it interesting. At one time, Quentin Tarintino was actaully going to direct the next one but decide against it because of some prior commitments. Whatever happens, you better believe it, I will be there to see it. LOL. I haven't missed one yet. I was a fan when they were actually interesting. Now I see them just out of morbid curiousity. Here is the article and link:
There's not much to report here but what there IS to report, is pretty intriguing. According to a throwaway blurb in Variety talking about Fox releasing the OMEN remake on 6/6/06 (a Tuesday), they went on to comment that New Line was hoping to pull a similar "stunt release" on Friday the 13th this year...with another FRIDAY THE 13TH movie. Said movie would be the 12th in the franchise and would, like the in-production TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE movie, revisit the origins of Jason Voorhees. Here's hoping they cover how the hell he moves so fast while shuffling along like my grandma. So beyond that tidbit, that a FRIDAY THE 13TH pic is in the works and planned for this October, not much is known. Obviously if New Line hopes to get this film out at the end of this year (October 13th), they'd need to get moving and an official announcement would be forthcoming.
