I don't think people in the Dolphins organization consider this a rebuilding year. I seriously doubt they bought in a older, injury prone QB to start for a rebuilding year. Please, enlighten me and post any official or unofficial statements coming out of the Dolphins camp saying they are "rebuilding".

Perhaps a few of the season ticket holders here can tell us how much they dropped the ticket prices due to the low expectations this year.

So you know why they don't say rebuilding.

Do you seriously thing Bill Parcells walked into this job and thought for one second, "hey, I bet this team that barely won one game last year by the skin of it's teeth - in overtime" can vastly improve and without a doubt make the playoffs? He's been around the block. I think he knew what was here before he ever decided to take this job.

Oh, and telling the fans "We're rebuilding this year, so expect alot of losing..." sure would sell alot of those season tickets. In case you forgot, this is a business, too.

I'd say we play Henne when the 2010 season starts. No joke. The best QBs in the NFL get that way by sitting and learning behind a veteran. Throwing a young QB onto a bad team is a sure way to break his confidence permanently. Peyton Manning is the last time in recent memory a rookie QB started and did well. We need to go the Tony Romo route here. Sit him behind Pennington for 2 seasons, let him get the mental side of it down solid, then start him......

I think he should wait till next year. I am a huge Henne fan have been for years as I am also a Michigan fan, but if the line cant block, and there are no wr to throw too then there is no need to put him in there.

If we wait till next year not only will we be able to improve the team somemore, but we can also give him another offseason to improve his game learn the NFL more.

Whether anyone admits it or not, Parcells is fully aware this is a rebuilding year. The reason you bring in a vet QB is so your rookie has someone to mentor him. You want the vet QB to take the bumps that will come during the rebuilding stage, not the rookie. Bad teams ruin rookie QBs who start for them......

Henne's pocket presence is like night and day compared to Beck. Henne also has a legitimate NFL arm. I hope Henne is playing by midseason. There is no right or wrong way to get rookies ready. Some played in thier first year, like Marino, Manning, Aikman, and McNabb, and others waited like Palmer and McNair. I say the sooner you get him playing time the closer you are to getting over the rookie mistakes.

Henne maybe next year. He has a great arm but not sure the mind is there yet he stares down his recievers and that needs to be fixed before he goes in. That being said you might spot him in for some long throws just to keep the defenses honest. But you need a WR that can run to the ball maybe Ginn but he is like casper the ghost rght now as far as a WR.

Oh, man. You goddamn morons never learn, do you? Yes, let's start him for four games when we're at our worst so he can struggle and call him a bust the next year.

Yes, let's do that. After all, THAT isn't a movie I've already seen before, right?

Who's a solid second round QB prospect for next year, anyhow?

One loss and we already have a change the QB thread. Ridiculous.

I say if things do not change by the end of the first half next week, we pull Pennington.

I think Pennington needs to stay in there, let the offense gel as a unit. Then later in the season it wont take till the middle of the second quarter to start be able to move the ball.

on a side note, I think we need to address WR in the draft next year, Henne, whenever he plays, needs to have someone to throw it to other than Ginn, and that is only if Ginn starts playing the way we hope he is capable of

I really think the Pennington arm strength talk as being some sort of 'revelation' needs to stop. He performed today exactly as billed and a 250 yard 60 percent completion day are vintage Pennington stats. The more we fail to generate a running attack and demand that Pennington be something that he is not the more the losses will stack up. This one CANNOT be laid at his feet or arm, whatever the case may be.

Bill was smart enough to realize that even when his Cowboy's somehow made the playoffs in his first year, what happened that year was merely an evaluation of the job that needed to be done to make them a genuine contender. Hopefully he takes the same approach here. You try to win as many as you can but don't sell the team's future out for one year and don't base the foundation of the team on guys who did just enough to have you make the playoffs.. Saban and Cam both got themselves in deep because of that approach.
