I don't think that he does....But i'll tell you if i were a team that wanted Beck, they could probably get him REALLY cheap. In that case i don't see why you wouldn't take the chance because this guy still hasn't proven that he isn't a good NFL QB (or an awful one). A 7th round pick for a guy with untapped potential perhaps? If you even have to offer that at all, if he's released you could just sign him. I don't see how it would hurt a team.......

Fellow Beck supporters might bash me for this, and I'm one of the biggest supporters of him, thru 4 years at Brigham Young, to meeting him pre-draft, to following him at Miami.

He needs to leave. Fresh start. I'd hoped it would be with Miami, but with how he was worked last year, in such a situation, I think that sets him back, HERE, for a long time. I believe he'd recover quicker with a fresh set of eyes that weren't focussed on "their people" as many would say.

I agree. I just wonder who if anyone would step up with even a seventh... Since this regime (and rightly so) puts a VERY high premium on draft choices I would think they would prefer to hold out to get anything for him as injuries occur and other teams depth charts begin to change... but the fact they are giving him almost zero reps indicates they are sure not keen to 'showcase him'...

You might get a 6th rounder. Something like that. He's not an aging QB, and other teams might look at him and say he could hold some part of there future. There are teams right now looking for a decent back up.

SF, Baltimore, Minnesota, or Chicago come to mind.

Interesting 70/30 split. Yet, the majority of people that are flapping their gums about the situation seem to be of the mind that he should be gotten rid of...guess it's just a vocal minority.

The Oakland Raider's QB Jamarcus Russell, the 1st pick of the 2007 draft, was very underwhelming in his two starts at the end of last year. Approximately 55% passing, 2 TDs and 4 Ints. It appears he isn't developing fast enough. Based on the Beck haters logic, the Raiders should just cut Russell. Give me a break. It often takes many years to develop a good starting NFL QB. In fact, Marino is the only NFL QB I can remember over the past 30+ years who really played awesome (not just serviceable) his rookie year, and he was a very rare talent. Give Beck 3 full years, and if he still is having trouble, then get rid of him.

McCown hasn't even beat Beck out in camp, how is he more capable of coming in off the bench than Beck? Keep the youth with upside.

Beck has the talent to become a superior qb to Mccown. with that said, he's gone!
We don't have the reps to develop him and henne at the same time.
Front office wants a backup that can just step in without the reps in practice.
Mccown leads only in experience, but that is what the battle for second string (until henne is much further developed) is really about. Who can play without further development?

Let's just pray that Pennington doesn't get injured, at least until midseason or later when henne is ready to lead the team. MCcown behind center will be ugly, but Beck behind center without the development time would be even worse. Sorry Beck, its not about talent, its about time.

Yes but McCown isn't even playing better than Beck RIGHT NOW...forget about further development, we're talking right now, who is the better QB? I think it's Beck.

Exactly. What's the impact cap-wise of releasing either? Trade value?

I've read posts by people willing to get a sixth for Beck. A sixth round pick for a second rounder vs. maybe a late rounder for a free agent pick up that hasn't beaten anybody in camp.
