I thought about adding Henne, and I probably should have. He's shown some good things very early on. By the way, you're not alone on the idea of Carpenter winning the kicking job. I think that Dan Carpenter will be our new starting kicker.

The biggest plus to the defense so far has to be Ferguson though. I thought he was our biggest pick up. Traylor was old and worn last year and it showed in our run D. If we can stop the run this year, our defense will be MUCH improved all the way across the board. Having a solid guy in the middle is going to be key in helping our young DEs develope too. We need to give them opportunities to make things happen and Fergusons presence in there should do just that.

Ferguson is playing like he's in his early to mid 20s, not in his 30s...I forgot about him.

You really think Feeley will be gone? Not to say you're off base but from what I've read, Feeley has only had one bad practice which was the scrimmage. Have there been more? I'm only going based on what I've read in some of the blogs which I'm sure isn't a complete picture.

two words.. R & R

can't wait to see Ricky and Ronnie run rampant this year.
possible Ricky will start the season and i say let him.
Ronnie needs time to heal and not try to push himself early and risk
re injury..thoughts??

just to throw a name out that hasn't been said; Nathan Jones. He was expected at best to be our dime back, BUT he has been a playmaker during camp and is currently our nickle with a chance of being a starter.

I'd also say all the rookies are doing well

I saw an interview with Vernon Carey saying Matt Roth is the hardest D-linemen in camp to block.

Omar Kelly, Armando Salguero, and I've even seen notes of Feely's struggles in Ozzy's camp reports. So, it's more than just the scrimmage.

I just hope Hagan plays well, so him and Ginn with Wilford as a 3rd option and maybe Bess as 4th could help our QBs a little

22 posts and still nobody's mentioned Brandon Fields? Truthfully, he might be the best player on the field relative to his own position, according to the camp reports. Now, it might well be a different story when the lights come on and he's playing in front of tens of thousands of people with a live rush...but by all reports he's absolutely killing the ball, and Parcells has had Fields included in his very short list of keepers since he got here.

Derek Hagan tops the receivers.

Anthony Fasano tops the TEs.

Ricky tops the runners but Ronnie's knee has been a pleasant surprise. Jalen Parmele deserves mention but so too does Patrick Cobbs who is running well AND gunning hard on special teams. At that rate, he makes the roster...and that's quite the accomplishment because I think they stacked the deck against him.

Donald Thomas gets the pleasant surprise award on the OL, but Vernon Carey gets the award for being the best absolute OL.

Nobody among the QBs deserves to be mentioned among the top performers.

Jason Ferguson and Vonnie Holliday tie for top performing DLs. Kendall Langford the pleasant surprise award.

At OLB Quentin Moses has become a consistent pleasant surprise. Charlie Anderson made some early waves but we haven't heard much of him since. Channing Crowder's command among the ILBs is a pleasant surprise. Joey Porter is likely the best player overall here.

Yeremiah Bell's recovery is a pleasant surprise in the secondary. Not much else surprising in the secondary and I'm sure Will Allen is their best player.

Can't believe nobody said anything about Jake Long!!! He has held his own pretty well for being a rookie and only being in the NFL for a little over a week. CK pretty well hit the nail on the head though.

Wilford is an Orande Gadsen type player with a little more speed.
