Favre will try force the ball if he feels he needs to. It should be even more difficult for him in NY as he shouldn't be on the same wavelength with his receivers yet. I'm hopeful we make the most of our two pick opportunities on Sunday. They could be the difference in the game.
Great point. No doubt that will absolutely be a point of emphasis from Todd Bowles.

It could become a 2nd, but that also seems less likely than a 3rd, and a 1st seems extremely unlikely.

So, I call it a conditional 3rd.
In other words, you think Favre will play at at least 50% of the plays, but less than 70% of the plays, or will not make the playoffs. Gotcha.

One question. Will this be due to Favre and his 38 year old body not being able to hold up for entire season, not making the playoffs, or due to continuous blowouts resulting in "mop up duty" for Brett Junior?

Thomas Jones was averaging 2.4 yards per in the preseason, and the entire unit was averaging like 2.6 yards per during the first halves of preseason games. I'm just not buying on that run game yet.

What I sort of envisioned when I came up with the 16-14 score was this.

Brett Favre comes right out of the gate throwing two touchdowns on us in the first half, looking impressive and getting the Jets confident.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins stick to it, begin to slow the Jets down in the second half, and chip away at the lead with field goal after field goal, turning it into a 14-9 game.

Then, in the fourth quarter, the Jets continue to get shut out in the second half offensively, and by the time they realize they're in a dog fight with the Dolphins over this game, it'll be too late. Their defense is too tired to stop Ricky and Ronnie, and Pennington helps them get the ball into the end zone for the winning score.

That's kind of how I see it.
Exactly how things normally went prior Wanny, Saban, Cam......That combination of the heat and the Phins hitting the Jets in the mouth with slobber knocker football wins in the latter stages of the game. Nice work CK. Solid analysis.

I think CK can disregard the BY THE NUMBERS segment in his article because the team nowhere resembles the one from last year. How many returning starters do we have from that team? 5 or 6! Otherwise great read!

CK as usual you are so full of knowledge. It is a blessing that we have someone as gifted at both the knowledge of the game and team, but more importantly some one who can break it down with your incredible writing skills. I always look forward to your posts as I am sure everyone else does. Thanks so much. This is the only place to get real 411 about the team we love.

Speaking of love....Kilgore that pic of that as$ is awesome!

CJ Parrothead was a mere neophyte back in the old Miami Herald days...he learned all his moves from legendary Phin homers like Smitty, 08, Crazy Zach, Doc Love and the nuttiest Phin homer of all, Crazy Pete. Out of all 0f them, only Crazy Pete has disappeared into the ether...the rest of these guys are PROVEN Phin psychotics whom I not only respect but treasure as TRUE NFL fans...I fail to mention the Rook, or DaRook or whatever he goes by on this board because one must ALWAYS have a foil to use as a defense against that mighty aqua and teal hoard that waits to pounce....hi Rook!

I think I KNOW this CK personally...in fact...years ago I went to a MIAMI DOLPHINS draft party down in North Carolina to watch the draft with an entire cast of Phin zealots...I showed up with lobster for everybody PLUS fresh dug cherrystones...that's right...right in the midst of Dolfan central...and you know what happened?...our psychotic JET friend passed out and was covered in Phin paraphernalia...a CRUSHING BLOW....meanwhile...the BEST people and NFL fans I have EVER met were this cast of psycho Dolphin fans...now if CK Parrothead is actually Jimboleus Interruptus...well then ...I WIN!!!! Because personally, if CK is Jimbo, I had the good fortune to meet one of the finest people in my 57 years on the planet...and HE knows it!

Meanwhile, the Rook or DaRook or whatever he hides on this board under...you get nothing...you homer...and don't even tell the rest of these fans on Finheaven you liked B.P.....I got your posts archived...me and Will Doriss will be over to your house in South Florida sooner than you think...how do you like them apples?

When a sly veteran like "Joker" decides to go out of his way to join a dolphins message board, we know that this regime is getting some real attention in NFL circles.....
