Could someone please explain a reason to completely hate Culpepper? His play was poor (though not as bad as people make it out to be) and he only began to complain when he was not allowed to compete for the starting job. At what point did he do something to deserve such hatred?
Exactly. I find no fault with a person for honestly trying.

people like CPEP think they are really important, but in the scheme of things no body really cares after today about him, he just needs to shut up and move on, be a professional, but that may be too hard for him, no wonder why he won nothing in his career

The guy used to go to games and obviously received some attention as a fan (he was in a commercial, did charity work, etc). He was Dolfan Stan, just like the other superfans like Dolfan Denny and Big Poppa Pump, and he is retiring from that.............not the Dolphins. I guess it was something like a 5 hour haul for him to get to games and he and his family are moving on.

Some people think of him as a joke, some people have been downright cruel in their posts. I think that anyone that roots for Miami should be praised and not treated like a piece of garbage.

Come on now. I would never hate the man, but he is always insisting that he is some sort of famous figure. Like Dolfan Denny, and he's not, he was just lucky and got in their this is my seat comercial. I've been a fan for a long time, and knew Denny just a little. Stan actually sat very close to me, and he is nothing more than a fan, just like the rest of the crowd.

But he was in a commercial and he did root for the Phins just like everyone else. Maybe he is a little over the top, but some of the posts that this guy has had to put up with are pretty insulting. Let the guy have some fun, where is the harm in that?

For a guy that many on this board that want to act like Culpepper is an idiot as an agent, it seems the dolphins proved him right on his grievance and he got exactly what he wanted. Not sure how he would have got so much more in trade. We will see when he gets his contract.

I agree with you completely. I was just as happy when we acquired Daunte as I was when we got Ricky Williams (unfortunately neither one of those turned out very well for us). I know I'm going to make myself seem ancient, but I was just as happing dealing for Culpepper as I was with us picking up Bryan Cox, Keith Jackson or Keith Byars. My only point here is that he was not given a fair shot at competing while completely healthy. I don't care whether the Dolphins' staff rushed him back too quickly, or he did it to himself. He tryed extremely hard and he failed. Sound like anyone to you? Jay Fiedler maybe? How many years did we give a healthy Fiedler to lead us to the promised land? We knew all along Jay didn't possess the requisite physical tools to take us to the next level. But we stuck with him because he had heart and he left all he had out on the field. We gave Daunte, what, four games? So now DC displays the same aforementioned heart and he's ostracized and even demonized for that. Pardon me for being just mildly objective, but I just don't get it.
