So very agreed.

The shaky source aside this does bring up the point that Parcells does undeniably bring respectability and legitimacy to an organization.

The Jets made a risky move bringing in Favre and it could turn into a disaster. It could also turn out very good. My opinion is if things play out well they COULD be a superbowl contender. They need all the new talent to gel and play well together, no significant injuries and probably a little luck.

With Penny or Clemens I don't believe their was a chance for making a superbowl. Their was less risk involved with that route, but also less potential reward. I've been watching this team for 22 years and I'm happy they took the risk.

As for week one, the fins definitely have a shot at winning the game if they can run the ball well and control the tempo of the game. They seem to have the potential to do that. I don't see it as a cake walk, but I know a lot of Jets fans do.

Can somone wite me the manual on when or when we are not supposed to pay attention to pundits? I mean, on one hand they say the Dolphins aren't good, and, then, they suck...But, then, they say we're good and, they're to be trusted.

*Seriously guys....Joe Theisman?...Are you kidding me?*

I really think that this 1st game of the season is going to come down to the simple basics of football. Whoever can run the ball, stop the run, and not turn it over will win. I personally believe this team can when any game this season if they do that. Last year you didn't get that feeling, but it seems different this year. I see both 'fins vs Jets games this year being very competetive and coming down to the basics.

Now I know Theisman usually comes off seeming as intelligent as a 5 year old on Zoloft, but he was talking about how he hates the Favre to the Jets move. He was saying how the Jets are using him and putting him on display and using him for publicity etc... he was saying how he thought that was disgusting.(I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist.) He went on to say how he thinks it's going to turn out to be disastrous and that he can't be in shape and he should have decided earlier in order to get ready and that the Jets are going to have to go to the Superbowl in order for him to succeed, etc....and then...what was funny is that he then said that going to Miami in the first week is going to also be a disaster, with the heat and him not being in shape, etc.....Mike Francesca whole heartedly agreed and said how the beginning of the Jets schedule is going to be real tough. He said..."they have to go to Miami, San Diego then New England", I believe it was. He said those are going to be "tough games"....

I thought the respect was kind of cool and unusual, which leads me to what I heard next....

On the 'Michael Kay show' on ESPN radio today they were playing more of that same Theisman clip. The other guy with Michael was a football player or coach, I believe, I forget, but they both went on to say after how they think the Miami game is going to be tougher than people think. He went on to say how Miami has a totally new regime from Parcells to the coaches to most of the players, new QB, etc.... He says he has a strong feeling The Dolphins are going to surprise people and could be very good this year. He then said, which I loved, is that the Jets could be "heading into a hornets nest down in Miami in week one"...

Most know how I feel about most of the sports media, but I just thought it was kind of cool how there's buzz on us floating around from different sources now, that we may surprise people this year and be pretty good. We all know how we usually get ripped or ignored by the media, so I'll take anything.....

Just sharing some info. Sorry if something was posted on this.
I love it. Normally you think he "comes off as intellignet as a 5 year old on Zoloft" but now b/c he bashed the Jets and backhandedly complimented the Phins he's ok

Theisman is a blowhard. But consider this. The media are like cattle. One starts to moo with credibility and they all fall in line...Me thinks Theisman is mooing like others. Others are agreeing. That speaks volumes.

No one can deny it. Its right in front of you. You can see the big diff in this team just with attitude. I am sort of glad JT is gone now cus he got us a 2nd rdr and this team runs a 3-4. He really doesnt fit and his attitude changed like Zachs. So this team is young and vibrant. Big beefy maulers on both sides of the ball. Even our LB's are 290 lbs. We will not be quick to get to the QB IMO, but we will crash down that Oline in all the lanes IMO so they cannot do much else. So as long as the coverage is there, the sacks will come.

First off I think it's safe to say everyone expects you'll be alot better than 1-15. That's not going out on a limb, it's almost impossible not to be alot better. As far as the attitude, I have read this from dolphin fans the past few years. First it was Saban's first year where the culture had changed, then in year 2 you had playoff attitude, then last yera another new attitude expecting success. I went through this from the late 80s through the late 90s. Every time we got a new coach I felt this is the guy and it we'd take off but it never happened until Parcells COACHED us. He's not your coach, you don't know what Sparano can do yet. There's still a large hill to climg, you'll be better and you might be alot better and this might be the best move you guys have made this decade BUT allow them the chance to prove it.

Apparently, you did not watch the Jax game. I suggest you reconsider. No one is saying we are a playoff team or anything. What we are saying is, The J-E-T-S Jets are also banking on that they are a much improved team that went 4-12 or something or other.

You will meet a buzzsaw on Sept 7 in Hot Miami if you come down here thinking this is a walkover. You will be much surprised. Chad can dump it off with the best of them and strike the lone-big play of the day with the best of them.

The difference between past years and this year is that we have PROVEN head coach as our VP. And as far as his impact, this gives Tony someone to turn to when he does have a question, someone who has seen it all. BP, I'm sure, will have plenty of input as to what happens on the field. Cameron and Saban were in their first ventures as well, but didn't have the luxury of a Hall of Fame coach on the staff to ask questions, or to give them suggestions. And the truth is, he may very well have many of the same philosophies BP has, and that has to be a good thing. There are certainly worse people to learn from. Sometimes the people that you have to lean on are as important as your own ability.

Oh, and I think that the respect the players have for you also makes a huge difference. They will play harder and more physically this year than we've seen in the last decade. Let's be honest...they fear the Tuna. There really is NO comparison to this regime and the last two.
