You will meet a buzzsaw on Sept 7 in Hot Miami if you come down here thinking this is a walkover. You will be much surprised. Chad can dump it off with the best of them and strike the lone-big play of the day with the best of them.

Apparently I didn't watch Miami's 2nd preseason game? as if that will tell us how good a team will be?

a buzzsaw?

Oh boy, I've heard some doozies on this board the past 5 years but this one might be the best.

Cameron and Saban were in their first ventures as well, but didn't have the luxury of a Hall of Fame coach on the staff to ask questions, or to give them suggestions. And the truth is, he may very well have many of the same philosophies BP has, and that has to be a good thing. There are certainly worse people to learn from. Sometimes the people that you have to lean on are as important as your own ability.

Oh, and I think that the respect the players have for you also makes a huge difference. They will play harder and more physically this year than we've seen in the last decade. Let's be honest...they fear the Tuna. There really is NO comparison to this regime and the last two.
The comedy never ends, now you have a proven HC as your VP as if that means something. He's NOT coaching! We had the same situation in 2000(but luckily Parcells gave groh some power to pick his own players) and it sure didn't help us and our 2000 team was MUCH more talented and experienced than your current team.

Why would they fear parcells?

Just relax the expectations a bit is all I ask. I have seen the unrealistic expectations on here on a yearly basis. Have fun watchign this team grow before you started thinking playoffs and beyond. Maybe they'll surprise? It's just not right to expect this great progress in 1 year.

Yes. Henne is showing he can be special in the games so far. Wish I could see the game tonight.

I never said we were going to make the playoffs this year, although I believe we will be vastly improved. I am looking forward to watching the young guys progress, and seeing what kind of improvements the new players and coaches bring. You keep talking about the "unrealistic expectations" on our board. Of course we have expectations, but I defy you to find me a serious post that shows anyone here believes we are real contenders for a championship. And of course every new coaching change brings that new hope, but I don't think anyone could argue that the current staff brings a better set of credentials than anyone since JJ and co.

Also, as far as players fearing Parcells, check out articles from when Parcells first took over. Joey Porter himself stated that you could feel the difference when he walked out on the practice field. He said guys started flying around harder and faster as soon as he came out there.

The current staff has never done anything in this league. Parcells has been a mediocre GM and Sparano has never been a HC. You guys act like you have Bill Parcells coaching in his prime and Jimmy Johnson(the dallas version) picking players.

Players will ALWAYS say the new way is better coming off a bad year. I went through this as a Jet fan from the late 80s through the late 90s and every year you'd hear great things about the new staff from players then when they were gone they trashed the old regime and praised the new one. it's the same stuff that has been happening w/ you guys the pst 5-6 years. Trash wanny the praise saban, trahs sbana then praise cameron, trash Cameron then praise Sparano and if Sparano doesn't work out you'll hear players trash sparano and praise the new Coach.

You know, you're right. After all, why should we have any enthusiasm? Our team will never be any good. We will never succeed, we will never win a game. I don't know why I didn't listen to you in the first place...

After all, who has more experience w/ hopelessness than the Jets fans, right?

The funny thing is (and I watched both Jets and phins pre-season this year so far) the two teams are pretty even in skill. I really don't think an aged, out of playing shape Favre really puts the Jets that much over a healthy, sharp Pennington lead Miami.

He doesn't need too. I've been saying this ever since Farve signed.

With how out of shape he is, a totally new team, and the Florida heat; there is NO WAY IN HELL he finishes the game. I already got $300 on it.

The season opener is going to be a disaster for the Jets,

Based off a preseason game? The Pats look like the 70's bucs right now. I love how Brett Favre has magically transformed from a top5 QB last year to a scrub who is comparable to the Chad Pennington's of the NFL.

What are you basing your insinuated opinion on? This 38 yr old qb whos taken 30 snaps since the NFC championship game and hasn't sniffed a playoff win in years just showing up and making your team a Super Bowl champ? At least I'm looking at football, albeit pre-season. Typical Jet fan.

typical fins fan. Brett Favre actually won a playoff game last year and I never mentioned SB. I just think its laughable to need a reason as to why I think Brett Favre is shoulders above Chad Pennington. Can we take the homer glasses off for a second. Brady hasnt taken a snap since the SB, Brady = JAG now?

The patsies do look old and slow. maybe that changes in regular season but they don't look good now on any level. They had two returns for scores in the same game when is the last time you saw that. (Maybe last years pre-season)

I'd be more worried about Pennington finishing the game if I were you.

Care to make a sig bet on this?

If Favre doesn't finish the game you put whatever you want in my sig and it stays there for a month. If he does, I own your sig for a month. Obviously the sig would have to conform to forum rules.

If he doesn't finish the game because the Jets put in the backup for mop up duty because they're killing the fins, I still win. I don't expect that to happen but I want to make it clear in case it does.
