5. DAN actually was on Shorty's side. Dan said "I admired the way you played!" In response to that, young threw his head back before DAN was announced, as if to say, "give me a break!" Look at the video again if you don't believe me. I used to think young was alright, but after today, he is nothing but a lucky, greeedy backup!

I'm sure he probably got sick of Marino's "ME, ME, ME" routine.

I dunno maybe not - but then again if Dan would have went up before Steve there probably would have been only about 43 people left in the stands.
it's a simple answer.....NO...he didn't.

I'm not following your logic. Yes football is the ultimate TEAM sport but sometimes SPECIAL players perform heroically and lift their teams to improbably victories.

Let's take a look at Marino's lone Super Bowl performance. He was 29-50 for 318 yards, with 1 TD and 2 Int's. His QB rating was in the 60's.

The Dolphins lost that game 38-16. My question is this: If instead of throwing two key interceptions, Marino had led the Dolphins to pay dirt on those two possessions.........How would that have changed the game???

My problem with Marino is NOT that he never won a Super Bowl. Winning the Super Bowl is a team effort. My biggest complaint about Marino is that he never ELEVATED his game in the big spots. The Dolphins didn't lose in the playoffs DESPITE Marino having monster games. The Dolphins lost in the playoffs, because they were so dependant on Marino and he repeatedly played poorly in the big spots.

There's a difference between losing and playing well and losing and playing poorly. Marino not only lost, he played poorly most of the time.

Like I mentioned earlier, how do you rationalize the fact that in 10 of his 18 career playoff games he threw 2 OR MORE Int's??? Oh yeah, by the way.....The Dolphins were 1-9 in those games. Big surprise.
Shouldn't it be noted he was 8-0 in the other games in the playoffs you don't speak of? I rationalize the fact that he threw 2 or more INT;s in those games by the fact that you needed to come in here and did some research to piss off DolFans on what should be a great and historic day for us. The stat's won't change, they are what they are. Marino doesn't belong in the hall because he threw int's in playoff games? Where's your logic? What got some mediocre Miami teams in those playoff games?

San Fran won that game because they finished the regular season that year at 15-1 they actually put more players on the NFC squad on defense than they did on offense and they simply played better that day because they were ultimately the better team. Want to take it a step further? For all of Montana's rings, the whole time he played for the Niners they had more players make the Pro Bowl on Defense than Offense by a wide margin. So to answer your question, Marino didn't have a chance of turning those 2 Super Bowl INt's the other way because the other team actually had something to say about that. The other guys on the that side of the field were getting paid to play too. And as for your logic, I'm still not seeing it because there is none!!

It seems to me that the Dolphins didn't fail to win a Super Bowl DESPITE Marino, they failed to win a Super Bowl BECAUSE of Marino.

Maybe one day if you guys are lucky enough to witness TRUE GREATNESS, you'll understand where the critics are coming from.

Did any of you guys see the statues of Marino and Young? Simply amazing. Those were the best busts I've seen since Jimmy Johnson's draft days.

true, there was a thread going earlier that was railing Young...it was something that didn't need to be done today.

More importantly it was something that didnt' get done by a Dolfan on the 49ers site...that's important to note.
