Do we sit Culpepper?so since we arent looking so great and most likely to get a top 5 draft pick do we sit Daunte Culpepper and let him get healthy or do we play him after our bye week and just keep him out there and wait til he gets adjusted

Saban has already said Culpepper won't play again until his knee is at full strength and can move well laterally.

He must have another start this season while there's little to play for, otherwise we have the same thing next season as this. Culpepper will start the season, because Saban has to justify the 2nd rounder and salary, but we just won't know what we're getting. He might have recovered or might not, but we can't afford to potentially lose 3 or 4 games at the start of the season again just to find out. It's cost us momentum and a settled offense planned for the QB's strengths.
Start him in the later season games and decide whether to hang next seasons chances on him (start him) or not (cut him), either way make a choice on facts, not the hope that he can one day repeat 2004, because right now thats all it is. |

I hope he gets healthy soon. He needs some games to get back to his old form. By no means am I suggesting we play him hurt, I just want him healthy and on the field.

I say if Harrington shows improvment next week no but if Harrington screws up and DC is felling better after the bye then put him in.

Agree with Ashraf-23, if Joey plays well he should start, but if not, and Dc is HEALTHY, start him after the Bye. Daunte should see some game time this season to work on his timing, after he's healthy. We need to know if he is indeed this franchise QB we hope he can be, or if we need to draft Brady Quinn, since we may pick high enough to get him.

We need to find out if either of them is a player for the future. Everyone hangs Daunte's poor performance on his knee, we need to know if he's done or not. Give them both equal game time and make a decision this season so we don't have QB by committee next.

if that means a good team next year, sit daunte all this year
joey isn't as bad as people think, his two int's have been tipped where the receiver just plain dropped the pass |

Culpepper IS sitting ... and will continue to sit ... indefinitely.
Meaning the guy is probably done. Hasta la vista baby. Now Joey's had what, maybe a week and a half with the 1st Team offense but already things are starting to click. Hey imagine if we'd had Joey working with Chambers and the WR's all along? Just might have won yesterday... Does anyone really think Daunte will start after the Bye week ... for the Chicago Bears?? Come on have mercy. He's no longer a starting QB but I don't wanna see him in a wheelchair either. ![]() |

It took the coaches long enough to admit they'd made a mistake, the same can't be allowed to happen next year. Culppeper must either be the starter next year (by proving he's got what it takes on the pitch) or be cut, otherwise next seasons over before it began |
