i am good on a 31 year old tackle with penalty issues. younger, people, younger. let's try and shore up the LT spot for 10 years and not 2, okay? i would take hamlin in a second. instant upgrade over what we have, he is young, and he can stay healthy. sounds like the trifecta to me.

We've got a decent LT with Vernon Carey. There would have to be a special player available in Free Agency or the Draft for us to consider moving him back to RT. I don't think Flozell Adams is that guy.

This is the first anti Hamlin post I have seen. He would be well worth the money and deserves a nice contract. He except for not starting 2 games his rookie season, and his incidient last year wth the shooting, he has proveb he can carry a full season on his back... He could be our next Brock Marion

Who do you think would be a better option?

I just think us fans from suffering a whole year with bad safeties(maybe not Allen at the end) and watching the lack of talent are getting excited over anybody who we think might be a better option. I think we should wait to see our options before picking Hamlin as the man...In my opinion Hamlin isnt all that.

Yeah, I agree with that Hamlin is only 27 still so I if you gave him a 5 year deal he would still be in his prime and hopefully that is enough to turn the team around. Hamlin is one of those steady players you can rely on and I think we could really benefit from. Match him up with Allen and I would be happy enough.

As for Flozell I really dont think we should be putting a ton of money in a 32 yo player.

I like the Sean Locklear/Jordan Gross/Travelle Wharton options just as much.

Even Max Starks if healthy.

He can stay healthy IF you can keep him out of bar fights.

We need to sure up the OL. If it's one thing we learned in previous years. If the OL looks bad on paper, it's usually is.

They've been trying to shore up the LT spot ever since Richmond Webb left man. It's easier said than done.

How about we get some guys in here that can keep our QB's from getting concussed this year, and we worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

Unless you happen to know where there's a 24 year old stud Left Tackle that we can sign who can anchor our line for the next 10 years?

Yeah I have an idea: the draft. Here are some names for you: Ryan Clady, Jeff Otah, Carl Nicks, Chris Williams and thats just a few of them. This is the deepest draft for T's in years and we should skip getting one of our achilles heels fixed. Even if we like Carey at LT draft a guy who can play both in case Carey ever goes down. Replacement RT are much easier to find, during the season than LT.

and you are satisfied with a 'fine' LT?

get a great LT, move Carey to RT. Then you have two 'great' tackles

well, someone.. Boomer maybe, posted some interesting facts.. like our guy Cary, graded out as good as the probowl selecties.. AND, he did it with little or no support from the left guard. No matter where you put Cary from now on, he is going to make left tackle money because he has proved he can play the position at a high level. I am not opposed to drafting a kid that can play left and right, like Cary, but not at the cost of wasting first pick value.
